HISTORY EDITION MASONIC APRON OF MERIWETHER LEWIS CIRCA 1800

A hand-painted replica of the Masonic apron owned by Meriwether Lewis. Lewis was inducted in 1796 in his native state of Virginia; he became a Royal Arch Mason there in 1799. Upon relocating to Missouri, Lewis became a member of the first lodge in Missouri, located in Ste. Genevieve. Lewis was instrumental in setting up the first lodge in St. Louis in 1808, and was named its first Grand Master.
